What is Notarization?

Notarization is the act of signing a given document in the presence of a licensed Notary public. This has the same effect as swearing to speak the truth under oath in court. A notarized letter or document is certified by a Notary public, a licensed public officer who serves as an impartial witness to the signing of documents and establishes the authenticity of the signatures and the truth therein.

Why is Notarization necessary?

Swearing that the contents of a document(s) are the truth, and that the document(s) have been signed by the appropriate person is a requirement of many government and legal processes. To notarize a document, we confirm an individual’s identity and that they understand the contents of the document.
